The valley is just as stunning as it is in the summertime and you won’t have any trouble finding ways to fill your time.

A mid-winter getaway is a perfect way to shake those wintertime blues. With 300 days of sunshine here in the Lake Chelan Valley, you can get your Vitamin D fix any time of year!

Here are our tips for making the most of your mid-winter vacation:

Layer Up and Get Outside

While we may bask in the sunshine 300 days a year, the temperature does drop and the air can feel brisk. Pack layers like long-sleeve tees, vests, sweaters, and a beanie so you can be ready for any kind of weather. (Don’t forget your sunglasses!)  Then, get outside and explore! Chelan offers all kinds of winter outdoor activities. Head to Echo Ridge for over 25 miles of groomed trails for some cross-country skiing or snowmobiling. Or hit the Ski Area for an afternoon of skiing or tubing!

Even a loop around Riverwalk Park, located across the road from the Grandview, can be a beautiful outing.

Stroll Downtown

Just across the bridge from the Grandview, you can stroll the quaint streets of downtown Chelan. It’s even more charming under a layer of fresh snow. You can’t go wrong with an afternoon of window shopping. Order a hot coffee and wander the shops where you’ll be greeted by warm smiles and friendly faces. Pick up a winter vacation read at Riverwalk Books or find a souvenir at Swim World. When you’re done, grab a bite at one of the local restaurants!

Plan for an Event

If you’re trying to pick a good time to make your trip, look up Winter events that look like fun to you. Of course, there’s Winterfest in January, but there’s also two weekends of Red Wine & Chocolate in February. Enjoy sipping on library and limited edition wines while tasting custom-made and thoughtfully paired chocolate creations. Curl up next to a fire with your loved one and immerse yourself in relaxation. It’s the perfect winter refresh. For live music and other events dates, check out the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce’s calendar!

Enjoy the View

Being on vacation means you have little to no obligations, so if you just want to post up in your unit and enjoy the view, we really don’t blame you! The Lake Chelan Valley is everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. The landscape is serene, beautiful, and relaxing. Grab your book and curl up on the couch while you enjoy your morning cup of coffee or watch the sun set behind the Cascades in the evening. You’ll feel relaxed and rejuvenated in a way you didn’t know you could!

A winter getaway to the Lake Chelan Valley can be just as beautiful and fun as the summertime. We know you’ll enjoy the beauty of the snow-capped hills and serene lake as you get some well-deserved R & R.
